Howdy folks – gonna keep it brief since I’m currently hitting submit on this on a plane. April was a bonkers month for new records, as well as in my personal life. And guess what, May hasn’t been any different. Take a listen to some of these records here and let me know what you think.

Bruno Berle – No Reino Dos Afetos 2 [Psychic Hotline / Far Out]
Underneath the quiet florist’s bed exists a handmade cityscape made of objects the florist finds on their walk home from work. Donning finger puppets, a rich, lore-filled story takes place in this idyllic, eternally sunset-bathed town made of cardboard boxes and loose ends. 

Bullion – Affection [Ghostly International]
Soft pulses of energy from a former nightclub underneath your house reverberate less through the floorboards and more through your blood vessels, an energy that effectively naturally caffeinates you.

Corridor – Mimi [Sub Pop]
Archival film footage of a famous skier attempting to break a world record of jumping over the palatial mountain resort of the region, but after enlisting the help of a local astronomer to lower the gravity, the skier launches themselves into the atmosphere, never to be seen again.

Fabiana Palladino – Fabiana Palladino [XL]
The last shreds of dusk reflect off the polished chrome of your motorcycle, dousing the speeding vehicle in velvet purples, extinguished oranges and midnight blue.

Hour – Ease The Work [Dear Life Records]
The sights and sounds heard on an evening walk through your neighborhood: threads of phone calls, porch conversations, music, the wind, the traffic, and your own sighs floating together.

Maria Chiara Argirò – Closer [Innovative Leisure]
Laying in a sunbeam and feeling the solid ground beneath you start to boil in its heat. Matter quickly dissipating into colorful bursts of gas beneath you.

Shabason, Krgovich, Sage – Shabason, Krgovich, Sage [Idée Fixe]
Old diary entries from journals you had forgotten about. A period of your life previously unaccounted for finally filled in.

somesurprises – Perseids [Doom Trip]
An untrodden path through a dark forest, with pins of sunset light poking through the trees, lead you to a cliff of pure obsidian, glittering like deep space.

Still House Plants – If I don’t make it, I love u [Bison]
Delirious after staying up for 36 hours, you pass by a television store with vintage CRTs stacked in the window, all of them transmitting messages to you from loved ones.

Vegyn – The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions [PLZ Make It Ruins]
Atop a spire of junk in an over-filled metropolis, a cyborg tunes a retro radio to various pirate stations via separate spires, steam and smoke casting light in amoeba-like shapes.
