Remember June? My July was pretty hellish, so unfortunately the blog suffered. Don’t fear though, because I found a good truckload of tunes in the middle month of the year. Some of these records are looking like locks for my top 10, top 15 for the year as a whole. Not bad!

Riding down a massive dune as the ancient pyramids lift out of the sand behind you, finally unlocked their alien spacecraft potential after you aligned the crystals of destiny.

Black Moth Super Rainbow – Soft New Magic Dream [Rad Cult]
Your grandparents’ old house still exists as it stood thirty years ago, uninhabited, only urban explorers have uncovered a slime pit underneath the family room floorboards that undulates with a familiar warmth.

Domenique Dumont – Deux Paradis [Antinote]
Finding a VHS tape at a thrift store that poses as a tourist information & advertisement video for some tropical island you’d never heard of before, until you watch it and realize it’s voyeur videos of you on said island: laying on the beach, eating meals and going on walks in paradise.

Gelli Haha – Switcheroo [Innovative Leisure]
A hallucinogenic sugar rush causes you to break onto the set of a local access children’s show set play to play in its small ball pit set for 48 hours.

Hayden Pedigo – I’ll Be Waving As You Drive Away [Mexican Summer]
Watching a minivan drive across the horizon line in the distance, dwarfed by a giant raincloud that engulfs the small vehicle, and ultimately passes through the storm and back into the sun.

Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer – Different Rooms [International Anthem]
Exploring a metropolis where the populace has suddenly disappeared, but utilities like the subway, buses, lights and food delivery operate unabated.

Phoebe Rings – Aseurai [Carpark]
Drifting through deep space after ejecting from your craft, you notice an alien ship with a disco ball rotating and its passengers busting down on a dreamy, stardust haze dancefloor.

Purelink – Faith [Pure Oil]
Tuning your domestic air purification systems to a certain frequency that makes your MPBC (micro-plastics blood content) vibrate inside your brain, leading to a glassy-eyed, euphoric trance.

Tan Cologne – Unknown Beyond [Labrador]
A room thick with hundreds of hanging curtains obscures the furniture and the room’s occupants within. You must uncover whose voice is calling you.

TDJ – TDJ [Collection Disques Durs]
Posing atop a cliffside with massive spotlights aimed up at you, a one-piece swimsuit grips your muscles and glistens with cool, midnight water. The crowd cheers for you to dive again.
