Montreal quintet Pottery lit my world alight at SXSW this year and their debut EP No. 1 keeps the fire burning, combining a lot of my favorite things from current post punk: the sharpness of Omni, the locked-in jams of Oh Sees, and the sharp wit of a Parquet Courts (minus the slacker ethos). It’s awesome. Like I said, they’re incredible live and they’re about to head out on tour with labelmates Fontaines D.C. (another favorite of the blog) this fall.
