Can it be?? Warm Visions posting something other than a list? It’s true, folks. After a long absence of individual posts, I have struck inspiration with this amazing Aashid Himons track, “The Gods & I”, off his 1984 album Kosmik Gypsy. If you’re looking for an ultimate groove to kick off your 2023, look no further.

I picked this record up in a dig for rare 80s groove back in 2021 and finally got to it today. The whole album is great, but this song as well as “In A Figaro of Speech” were my favorites. An awesome vocal performance from Himons, and the chunky electronic groove really does it for me. The rest of the album features reggae fused with disco and 80s electronica, making for a sound I haven’t heard replicated many other places. If you’re down with this track, seek out Kosmik Gypsy. You won’t be disappointed.
