30 Years: Warm Visions’ #1 Albums of 1992-2022
On October 24th, 2022, I turned 30. I didn’t have any big plans for the momentous date which is convenient for me since I also came down with covid the day of. While marinating in a fever-addled haze, I thought … Continue reading
Warm Visions’ Top 10 Concerts of 2022
I returned to live music in a big way in 2022. I witnessed 109 different performances by 105 different artists, as opposed to last year where I saw 44 performances by 43 artists (granted shows really didn’t start back up … Continue reading
2021 Retrospective – 100 Discoveries, Obsessions and Moments + Listening Stats
Since 2014, I’ve tried to keep track of songs that have impacted or defined my year (see all those posts tagged in the “Retrospective” section). The songs that I pull into this playlist are usually favorite discoveries of mine that blow my mind (and embarrass me occasionally, as in “why didn’t I listen to this sooner?” Lots of that in this post here), obsessions that I sink into like quicksand (usually new songs that come out that year) or more rarely, soundtracks to true moments that I’ll forever associate with said song. Continue reading
Warm Visions’ Top 100 Songs of 2021
Putting a bow on 2021’s Warm Visions list week with my final big piece: 100 of my favorite songs of the year. Doing this the same as the last few years, where I alphabetize 90 of my favorite songs and rank my top 10. There’s no way I can rank 100 songs. Continue reading
Warm Visions’ Top 50 Albums of 2021
Here’s the big one – 50 of my favorite albums (plus 11 honorable mentions) from this upside-down, majorly cursed year. The vibes were bad, but the music was good. Continue reading
Recommended Albums: November 2021
Keeping it light this month since I’m hard at work on my Best of 2021 lists. Hopefully those will be done in the next few weeks! In the meantime, check out these five albums I loved from the month, along … Continue reading
Warm Visions’ Best Albums + Songs of 2021 So Far
It’s not quite at 2021’s halfway point yet, but there has been a good amount of music that’s been so exciting to me that I want to share how things have been shaping up NOW. Continue reading
Recommended Albums: February 2021
I had a bit of difficulty picking 10 records to feature for February 2021. Not because there was a dearth in good music – more the opposite. Lots of high-profile indie releases finally hitting, as well as majorly-hyped newcomers cutting … Continue reading
Recommended Albums: January 2021
Recommended Albums is in its sixth year of operation, which frankly is absurd to me. This started as a way for me to get more involved in my blog as I’d been slacking on it going into 2016. Kind of … Continue reading
Listen: Cassandra Jenkins – “Hard Drive” [2021]
You’ve probably already seen this song posted everywhere this year already, but this Cassandra Jenkins song “Hard Drive” is so great. Slowly building poetic narrative with some slick saxophone jazzing up the background. It’s vast and seemingly limitless. Can’t wait … Continue reading
