It’s been a year already. We need some meditative, instrumental guitar pieces to help us recalibrate. Ryan Dugre is here. His new EP Look See is out February 18 via Ruination Records and has definitely reset my internal monologues in the short time I’ve spent with it early on.
Take a gander at the title track, which dips a bit into some dissonant melodies and patterns, but ultimately floats along with a sense of purpose and drive. He’s using a tenor guitar for the project, which at times gives me tones similar to that of a mandolin. It’s a homespun, no-frills affair with heartfelt playing and like I previously said, a melancholy meditative feel around it. Each track seems like it flows into the next so it was hard for me not to post more songs that aren’t out yet, but this is just giving you a reason to follow up with this project once it’s out.
