Listen: Suzanne Ciani – “The Second Wave: Sirens” [1982]

I realized just recently that despite Suzanne Ciani’s 1982 album Seven Waves greatly impacting my 2021 and its listening habits, I never posted about it aside from my 2021 Retrospective. I’m here to change that today, because some of y’all act like you’ve never listened to Suzanne Ciani before, and it shows.

Seven Waves is an euphoric experience of mellow synthesizer and electronics, cascading together into a glittering display illustrating various water-based imagery. One of the most blissful listens I’ve had in a long time. I cannot recommend it enough.

Had a moment listening to this recently after I found out a friend from elementary school ended his life a few days ago. This one goes out to Kyle, in the eternal plane. Echoing far beyond our imagination.
