Well wouldn’t you know it, after making one of my favorite albums of 2021, Marissa Nadler is back with a new EP coming February 4 via Sacred Bones. Not only that, but she’s covered one of my all-time favorite songs as well, The Alessi Brothers’ “Seabird”, which in my opinion is done better by the band Innovations, which I’ve posted about on here before. It’s a great, breezy tune that Nadler deeply embraces, stepping away from the vast dirge of her previous album but still stamping her signature sound upon. It’s still got some weepy slide guitar though, so it can fit right in with the mood she set with The Path of the Clouds.
