We’re onto my fourth part of my 2010s garage rock playlist series, this time diving into a bit of fuzzy, scuzzy and buzzy territory on Slime Road Truckerz. I don’t know where the name came from, it just seemed appropriate envisioning a trucker barreling down some remote highway towing toxic waste across a post-apocalyptic landscape. While that sounds a bit more metal in its imagery, I’d like to think there’s some old school hardcore rockabilly dude that persists in the apocalypse listening to some of these tunes.

Getting into the actual music itself, it features the first Thee Oh Sees track I ever heard, “Enemy Destruct,” along with some other personal favorites like Hunx and his Punx “You Think You’re Tough,” Ty Segall’s “Mandy Cream” (fun fact, this is the most “new” song in the entire garage rock playlist saga – I tried to not go past 2014 but I broke my rule two or three times), and a few tracks that I’ve held onto from my early music blog days like Male Bonding’s “Years Not Long,” Gauntlet Hair’s “Mop It Up” and Grave Babies’ “Over and Under Ground.” This whole playlist saga is an exercise in “let’s remember some guys.”

The playlist devolves into hairier, nastier and louder as it progresses, so stay tuned, and don’t let the radiation corrupt your DNA too much.
